Financial Literacy in the Saskatchewan School Curriculum

Since April 2018, the Ministry of Education has worked with teacher-writers to develop the draft Financial Literacy 20, 30 curriculum in the area of Practical and Applied Arts.  The curriculum will be piloted by teachers in 10 school divisions/First Nations education organizations from February to June 2019.  School divisions will also be invited to pilot during the first semester of the 2019-20 school year and the curriculum will be ready for provincial implementation in February 2020.

Consulting with stakeholders, sector partners, parents, interest groups and non-sector subject matter experts is one of the guiding principles for curriculum development.  Your organization is invited to attend an afternoon vetting session to review the draft curriculum and to provide feedback which will help to inform ongoing revisions to the document prior to its finalization.
