The first event of the SFLN was a one day forum held in November, 2015 in Saskatoon, with representation from Indigenous communities, Special Needs & Disabilities, Newcomers to Saskatchewan, Seniors, Underbanked/Under Served and Youth and Family organizations. The meeting determined a clear need to create a formal financial literacy organization with the aim of helping people across the province easily source the information they need to make better financial decisions.
In collaboration with various stakeholder organizations, the SFLN will gather and distribute information to ensure consumers are well-equipped to make decisions that affect their livelihood and their future.
The SFLN is comprised of 9 – 10 financial expert representatives from our funding partners, community organizations and one student member who are dedicated to increasing financial literacy across the province.

The SFLN will be the champion for Financial Literacy across Saskatchewan, in an attempt to increase financial responsibility to build economic strength and independence in our province.
